Stair Sprints

I started doing stair sprints this week in my building. I managed to do 16 floors x3 within 10 minutes (From 2nd to 19th, since there is no 4th, 13th, and 14th floor......crazy asians). I got one word to describe the experience..........BRUTAL!!!! I then followed up with a crossfit style work out consisting of three 6 minute circuits. 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off for 6 minutes alternating between two different exercises. Each circuit contains 2 different exercises and one of them is always legs. Finished off with a 10 minute jog or run, depending on how your legs feel.

  3. You're just running UP the stairs right? U can really hurt yourself running down stairs and u don't really get much out of it exercise wise. I just don't want to see you ruin that beautiful grill of yours.

Yesterday we tried doing 90 flights. I think that's just under what you did and man, by the end of it, I could barely move my legs. It's that feeling when there is just no oxygen left in your muscles and you can BARELY move them.

  4. Yea, I do walk down. I find that it's a good way of keeping the heart rate up while recovering. If you're afraid then just hold on to the rail. Funny thing was, the first time I did it, the next day my quads were fine.......but my calves were destroyed for 4 days. I also find that this hits my cardio to the max! Recently it's been hard for me to maximize my cardio because my muscles usually would fatigue before that happened. But yea, killer warmup or even workout. It's short but deadly. (Insert "That's what she said." joke here)
